Bubble syndrome

She became a minor celebrity with her first film but Isha Sharvani, daughter of dancer Daksha Seth, is wasting no time after her rope tricks in Kisna. The new face of a herbal cosmetics company, Sharvani will soon be seen in a TV ad. "I also got them to send me buckets of soap bars. If I am endorsing it, I must use it," says Sharvani, rather conscientiously. More stardom will ensure that she unlearns that pretty soon.

Fast Food

It is obviously a cultivated taste-cultivated in the Indian dressing room that is. After Tendulkar's and Sourav's, the popular restaurants started by Indian cricketers, fast bowler Zaheer Khan has turned his attention to food. His restaurant Zak's opens soon in Pune. Going by the rush to get a table on the opening night, Zak's is guaranteed a good opening spell. Wonder if the team's fitness trainer will have a say in the menu.

Stage Struck

She has done the regular round in the entertainment industry-walked the ramp, posed for ads and swung to item numbers. But instead of going full throttle at Bollywood, model Gauhar Khan is taking a detour- to Hindi theatre. In Paritosh Painter's comedy of errors Kya Karen, Control Nahin Hota, Khan is a vivacious girl in polka-dotted skirts being pursued by two dotty old men. "We needed a fresh face in theatre. And she didn't have any stage fright," says director Painter. Or perhaps the former Miss India International got some tips from elder sister Negar who has just done a showstopping act for a Painter play. Will Sister Act 2 be a hit?

James Bond

From risque publicity to frisky fame, Riya Sen has travelled quite a distance in a few weeks. After her alleged participation in a bare-all snogging session with co-star Ashmit Patel, Sen is on a roll. Following rave reviews for Silsiilay, she has snagged an item number in Ram Gopal Varma's film James. Will he make her career sizzle like he did Urmila Matondkar's with Rangeela? Watch James or, better still, this space.
