JAT LIKE THAT

This painter from Ludhiana was a viewers' favourite in the Indian Idol sweepstakes last year. But 28-year-old Ravinder Ravi has no time for the paint-brush right now. He is busy promoting his debut album Jat Lutya Gaya and the title track's video featuring ex-Miss Norway Anne Lena Hansen. The album comprises a mix of Hindi and Punjabi songs, all of which have been composed by Jawahar Wattal. "I am glad that the video of my first album was shot in Norway and features a beauty queen," says Ravi, who intends to shift base to Mumbai soon. He has already signed a contract for his next album. Idol pursuit, anyone?

Video Wonder

If Amitabh Bachchan can do it, so can Nana Patekar. The actor known for his power-packed performances will now be seen in a promotional music video with John Abraham for their upcoming movie Taxi No 9211. In the video Meter Down, Patekar shakes a leg with a bevy of beauties. "He is not known for his dancing abilities but he's great fun in the video," says director Milan Luthria. Here's a jazzy Patekar for you.

PACKAGE DEAL

It's no secret that sisters Malaika Arora Khan and Amrita Arora are literally joined at the hip. After attending every do in town together, the duo has now posed for the new Marriott Hotel calendar shot by Jatin Kampani. Their "Siamese twins" look has been inspired by the series The Simple Life featuring Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie. Here are two sisters who look ready to be cast in an item number together. Any takers?

Cultural Swap

Indian television's favourite tomboy, Mona Wasu aka Miilee will now act in a Pakistani serial titled Rookhey Naina. Wasu will play the role of an Indian girl in search of her estranged Pakistani father. Meanwhile, Wasu is also on the lookout for interesting roles in films. "It's every actor's dream to eventually act in a Bollywood film," she says. For now, it is lights, camera and Pakistan.
