Dying Differentiation
This festive season has seen discount upon discount. Prices that seemed too low to go any lower have fallen further. Vardon studied classical dance at St. Petersburg, Russia, and has been part of several international dance companies. He teaches Club Salsa, Jiving, Cuban Ramba, Waltz, Fox Trot, Brazilian Samba and Spanish Tango.

Shiamak Davar's Institute For Performing Arts

Davar's institute specialises in Jazz and Hip Hop, but a bit of Salsa, rock 'n' roll and Afro Jazz too has crept in of late. Afro Jazz requires a lot of energy for its high-voltage jumping and acrobatic tribal movements. The instructors are trained by Davar himself, and the classes are held at rented halls or studios in each city. At the end of each session, members put together a piece, which Davar is always there to watch.

The school is a perfect mixture of hard work and fun. Tushna Dallas, the Director and Founder of the school, is an associate of the Royal Academy of Dance, London, and is certified by the academy. Her two studios are located at Blavatsky Lodge in Opera House and at Slater Road. Latin American dances on offer include Jive, Cha-Cha-Cha, Samba, Rumba, Salsa, and Line Dancing. Classical ballet and Modern Theatre classes are also held but they are more popular with younger children.

Run by renowned dancer Ashley Lobo, it has branches at Vasant Kunj, Gurgaon, Pitampura, Connaught Place, and Greater Kailash. Lobo teaches both Jazz and social dancing. Jazz can be a good substitute for workouts and is gaining in popularity. There are seven levels interested ingenues have to go through and it takes usually between three to six months. While the dresscode for the Jazz classes is excercise clothes and soft canvas shoes, social dancers need to turn up in formal evening wear.
